Painted – Decorative – Drawn / Gemaltes – Schmückendes – Gezeichnetes

‘Animal and floral impressions’ by Sunhild Heinken-Raether
Sunhild Heinken-Raether was already able to draw and paint imaginatively as a child.
During her teacher training, she consequently chose art education as her subject of study. During her time as a teacher, however, there was hardly any time left for her own creative endeavours.
In her ‘retirement’ she finally had all the time she needed for her artistic activities. She took part in the ‘open studio’ with Dirk Mühlenstedt at the Werkschule in Oldenburg, followed by courses with Dirk Lindemann and in Dötlingen with Theo Leijdekkers from Pieterburen.
Her favourite techniques are drawing, collage, acrylic painting and, last but not least, oil painting and still photography.
Inspired by flora, she paints portraits of plants and creates curious and surreal works with a twinkle in her eye. She wants to bring a smile and astonishment to the faces of everyone who looks at her pictures.
She often develops entire series of pictures on a single theme.
Ten years ago, Sunhild Heinken-Raether became a member of the ‘Oldenburg Artists’ Group’. Here, together with the other artists, she is able to decorate the traditional Easter exhibition with her pictures.

‘Drawings and collages’ by Christel Rohde
After retiring in 2007, Christel Rohde began to paint and draw intensively again.
Over time, coloured pencil has emerged as the medium with which she can best realise her artistic ideas. But she also works with watercolour and enjoys collages.
An object that she wants to draw, however simple it may be (flower blossom, apple, etc.), must fascinate her at the moment. Then she can put it on paper with the finest strokes and nuances of colour. Christel Rohde’s aim is to depict the object as naturalistically as possible. She wants to trigger in the viewer the desire to touch the drawing sheet to make sure that it is only a two-dimensional illusion.

‘Fine jewellery creations’ by Renate Overdick
Renate Overdick has worked part-time in a goldsmith’s shop in Sandhatten for over 30 years.
Until her retirement 15 years ago, she only made jewellery on a private basis for herself, relatives or friends.
Since her retirement, she has regularly exhibited her jewellery at arts and crafts markets, e.g. in Bremen, Oldenburg, Worpswede and Reinbek near Hamburg.
Renate Overdick makes her individual jewellery creations from silver with gemstones, ceramics and also combined with recycled mink.
She also sews bags from lorry tarpaulin, oilcloth and fabric.
